METT – Misfit Entrepreneur Think Tank- is a unique project seeking to uplift and empower at-risk gay youth. Our goal is to empower them to obtain the education and training they need to be successful, whether as entrepreneurs or working for another company. We believe that no young person should be in the situation where they feel like they have no options or future because of circumstances. Our mission is to help them find the tools and learn the skills they need to reach their highest potential.
METT is not a non-profit. We are not a charity. Most of our participants – we refer to them as “Minds”- have faced challenges and difficulties that most others their age could not imagine. From state foster programs to challenging addictions to incarceration, these young people have learned to endure, adapt and survive. They have developed skills and talents as a result that can help them to thrive instead of merely surviving. We feel that the best thing we can offer is opportunity. We don’t offer jobs, but rather the chance to learn what they need to make themselves self-sufficient instead of dependent.
